Music from "The Descendants" (2011)

"Hawaii has really been poorly portrayed in the past," says guitarist Keola Beamer. "It's been portrayed very stereotypically — a lot of surface stuff. You know, sunlight and pretty girls in bikinis — comedy-lite kind of stuff. I think this is one of best movies to come out of Hawaii, if not the best..."

Hobson's Choice (1954)

This film recycles dialogue from a popular "workhorse" stage play that had been written in someone's spare time during WW1.

The DVD commentary is especially good,  by Alain Silver and James Ursini.  It makes us realize watching edited, without "letterbox", is a waste of time!

It seems that the gist of this story is the upward mobility of (talented) women and the (talented) working class.  "Downton Abbey" has the same story.
